Jason, I believe Brother Skip has resolved this dedlimma with the following information, which I am copying and pasting here for readers to see.

    "Good Evening Tom:

    I am quoting from a 1950 L C Smith add in a Shooters bible.

    Ideal Grade Double triggers
    12-16-20-410 137.15
Extra Features Available Field & Ideal Grade Guns

    Auto ejectors 26.35
    Beavertail Forend (Ideal Grade only
    at no extra cost)
    26.05
    Selective Single trigger 34.70
    Standard Recoil Pad 6.35
Ivory Sights (field grade only) 1.65
(Ivory Sights Standard Equipment for Ideal Grade)

This information gathered from 1950 edition of the Shooters Bible #41 Page 72 & 73 L C Smith Double Barrel Shotguns I hope this clears up the options question.
    Best Regards Skip"

This information is from a 1950 Smith gun ad; it clearly indicates that a beavertail and ivory sights are indeed standard Ideal Grade equipment (as opposed to an option), but that ejectors, single trigger, and recoil pad were extra cost optional equipment to the customer.
