I am in agreement that long range shooting has little to do with the make of the gun, but the fit of the gun is of extreme importance. I regularly shoot flushed pheasants at 60+ yards at field trials using 1 1/8 ounce loads of #5's. Using my Merkel 12 bore with 2 1/2" shells I am at no disadvantage out to 50-55 yards. My point is that my Merkel was fit to me and shoots where I look.
