This is Superintendent Greenwald. I would like to give you some accurate information about the possibility and simply the discussions that are taking place about ECC and the board office. We are in discussion mode at this time in order to save money to possibly satellite the current services we offer at ECC in empty rooms at our current grade school buildings. I met with the entire ECC staff on Wednesday for an extended period of time informing them these conversations were taking place.
I want to make one thing perfectly clear, that our intentions are to retain the program, serving these young children but possibly at different venues. There has been talk over the past few years of the possibility of seeking relocation for the current board office at 1947 Adams Street. I have made it very clear that it is not a high priority in my mind to move the board office unless an opportunity came about that allowed a natural progression. As some of you have commented, the current Niedringhaus building has been discussed as a possibility. The condition of ECC if the move was made, would be more conducive for a place to house the board office.
Again, I will make it perfectly clear, that moving the board office is not the central focus of what we are discussing at this time. The comment about being closer to Emerald Meadows has no bearing on this discussions at all. As I stated to all of you, after all 225 tax referendum presentations, if you want the truth and would like to talk, give me a call at 451-5800 and I would certainly welcome a face-to-face visit with anyone that would like to do so. Make a great evening.
