Hard Core, in this particular case of borrowing, it is "we the people" who are he borrowers and the people who will pay it back. As we are the ones who elected the BOE, we empowered them at that time to do what they deemed best and responsible to keep things moving.
Should spending be stopped unless it is one hundred per cent necessary? You bet it should.
Should the hiring freeze that was implemented be upheld? You bet it should be.
Should they close a building if it could save hundreds of thousands? You bet it should be.
I don't know if any of this is going on. If they are looking at closing the ECC, I would think that's a money savings. If the discontinue making cuts, I will be disappointed. If they continue to hire people where they could "make do", I will be angry as well.
Again, the only thing I don't get is why everyone is blaming Mr. Greenwald when he very clearly stated some of these things would happen if the tax issue failed.
One thing is for sure, this has livened up the site again.
