for a track owner / promoter 2 make more money
We (Riders) are "customers" the classes are the menu or the "product". You as a promoter need to offer classes to fit various customer needs .. Vet Classes generate $$$
This year @ Pagoda our turnouts have been good
It does however seem that the mini classes are smaller.
I know there are a lot of injuries out there right now so I'm guessing that's part of it.
Eliminating A,B & C from Vet Classes will hurt big time
So will taking away $$$
We have several Vet Guys who count on Payouts & Contingency to feed their families. Forcing them to only Ride Open A will never work. And that's only 1 class
What are they suppose to do buy a 250 to ride 2 $$ Classes ??
Lorreta's & contingency breed Sandbagging.
Sandbagging doesn't turn riders away , it's a way for people lacking confidence or equipment in other areas to make themselves feel good & look cool.
I know for a fact stupid track layouts or dangerous jumps turn riders away , so does a poorly run Program.
Bottom line MX isn't cheap, it's crazy expensive
If I average out what I spend a year on bikes , gear , parts , bling, entry & gate fee's , fuel for my truck etc.
it's between $1500 & 2 G's a month. and that's 1 Rider with 2 bikes (expensive bikes) pulling a trailer witha pickup.
And with awesome industry support. Without Sponsors I'd be poor!! Some peeps with several kids , multiple bikes , big a$$ motor home & lots of traveling have to spend zillions !!!!
Not to mention Doctor co pays !!
We do it cause we love the Sport. Not just that we love to Ride but because we love the Sport & the Competition. Otherwise we'd all be weekend warriors out in the woods or at a practice track on a clapped out Roach.
