I'm not sure a series is really what a lot of guys are looking for. If I'm not mistaken, some of the issue is travel time etc. However, Doublin did get a nice crowd I thought, so maybe that is a draw. I think the key might be to draw ALL ages away from the practice days occasionally. You'll never get them all, but if you can find a way to make a race day seem as worthwhile as a practice day you'll still pull a crowd that just wants to ride/race, maybe not travel the state in a series. More guys/kids with older bikes that aren't as serious, but might race more often with an efficiently run program. If I'm reading correctly, one theory is these practice days are taking away from races, and the advantages to practice days are proximity, shorter day, more ride time, same or less $. Therefore, if you don't get a series, try a race format that addresses some of these issues and advertise it as such so that maybe you get some practice track heroes to come out and race.
