Re: What changes would you like to see?
Normally, I'm on board with the 99, but I think he's a little off on this one. For the average vet, I don't think the options or $$ are that much of a draw especially if you have a kid racing. I hope there are only 1 or 2 guys relying on contingency and purse to "feed the family". IMO, the average guy just wants some people to race against, and get a decent night of sleep before work on Monday, and with $ being tight, feel like he got something for his cash. We can't go to hard on the youth classes because as they said, they'll be the vet guys some day. So, like 99 says, maybe not cut classes if you can combine gates and get through the program. But, there is no doubt, the less total motos, the faster the programs. Getting done one or two hours early may not sound like much until you factor in the drive home, and the difference between getting home at 4 vs 6 or 7. Either that, or the days will go faster because there aren't any riders...... When I was riding a lot, I would have loved longer motos to test us a bit. If you're going to practice and try to stay in "riding" shape, why not have more race time. It adds another element that might help separate you from the other guys. There's no easy answer, as cutting classes does cut opportunity for promoter $, (and they need it), but if it helps attendance (and possibly decrease track maintenance with less watering and tilling) then that increases $. Someone is just going to have to give it a go and see how it works.
