Peugeot Partner 1.9D 2004 - Breaks down, gauges erratic, codes P0122 & P0215 #

Year of Manufacture *: 2004
Engine Code or CC *: 1900d (wjy)
( Optional ) Scanner Used: SPI

Van broke down after 5 minutes driving, A.A. unplugged lots of multi plugs. Pulled codes p0122 & p0215. Got rid off P0122, A.A. had wound throttle pot on elongated slots, put it back. SPI gives P0215 power relay,cross referencing on the Gendan site says Fuel shut off soleniod. When van starts it has heavy diesel knock, glow, MIL, handbrake and battery lights come on 1 second before cutting out.Sometimes glow light comes back on after starting. When we do manage to rev it up the tacho is up and down like a yo yo. Whilst engine off, after a few minutes the control unit next to ECU and soleniods in pump starting clicking.
We have cleaned bad earths behind n/s H/Lamp.
cannot find location for Power Relay(unlessit is the one next to ECU). And have no wiring diagrams.
Techy has been trying to get hold of RMIF helpline(Mototek)who would normally fax info, but they are not answering.Has anyone had similar, got any info to help?

hi just a thought,may not be related but check main engine to chassis earth,usually body to gearbox ?

Have spent a lot of time checking/re-checking all the known earth problems,sometimes wiggle test multi plugs at engine control unit(mass of fuses,soldered relays & pcb)E.C.U. & BSI unit would cause relays pump timing soleniod and unit relays to start clicking on and off again.On three occasions it started and ran fine(out of about 100 starts)Spoek again to Mototek, they said faulty relays are common problem.Local dealer has suddenly been supplying lots of units.
Got a new one.Found a local guy who was made redundant from bankrupt citroen delaer who has
Planet/Lexia english version.He said control unit
(labelled as B.S.M.)does not have to be configured.BBA REMAN,MOTORTEK and SYKES(SPI)say it does.Fitted new one, does not start, no glow plug or engine management light with ign. on.Not
a single wiff of fuel at tail pipe.BSI will not
re-boot now.Put old unit back on.Still the same.
SPI will not communicate.Can anyone confirm weather this unit does need to be configured and
has anyone experienced these issues.

You can buy the BSI unit ready configured or a cheaper non configured unit, either way you have to programme immobiliser.
If you have relays clicking and buzzing you must have a wire or wires not carrying enough current to hold them in or poor connections.. HTH.

Thank for the reply Neil, But the unit i am describing is the BSM unit under the bonnet, not the BSI in the van. Strange thing is as previously posted the clicking/buzzing is intermittent and now that is not happening with the loss of glow plug and engine management light.

Hi Phil. We have replaced several BSM under bonnet units and not had any programming whatsover to do.

We have even swapped and changed units with different part numbers and they all appear to work correctly. i,e we have fitted 307 BSM's to 206's etc without a problem.

I think that most of these Technical advice lines have usually little or no experience and rely on onscreen information to tell them what you need to know. If they dont know, they just say whatever sounds acceptable, it doesnt matter to them as they still get paid and appear to have done their job.

We have also had a few Partners/Berlingo's with water damaged BSI's that were either intermittent or total non starters.

No further foward at the mo.Can anyone send us a wiring diagram ?.Vivid only shows fuse box(which wrong one). HELLA/GUTTMAM has mor coverage but they list Bosch 5.3 & 5.5 which is wrong because it is Lucus DCN2.
