Peugeot 307 2.0 HDi RHS 2002 - FAP filter blocked # Archived Message

Hi this one is driving me crazy, car sold by local secondhand dealer, the vehicle came from Brighton Honda dealer. I'm wondering if original owner got fed up with problem & PX'd in for decent Honda.

The vehicle came in with exhaust light on and codes for FAP Filter blocked, so I canceled codes & carried out a forced regeneration of the FAP filter, after a long road test all appeared OK. The light stayed out approx 5 days & returned to us same problem so ordered up new FAP filter & Fluid. Fitted the filter & checked the fluid reservoir and surprised to find it full. We fitted the filter, canceled codes & reset the counters for the fluid. Again the light remained out for around 8 days. Had the vehicle back in & after much discussion with dealer & Mototek replaced the pressure sensor behind battery, canceled codes, regenerated filter & reset fluid counters. Again around 8 days light back on.

Now much head scratching as the fluid reservoir was full does this indicate fluid is not injecting into system, however when forced regeneration process is taking place the exhaust outlet melts our tarmac, indicating high temp raised in FAP filter! Is there any way of monitoring the FAP system working as these only cut in at cruising speed? Has any one out there had any experience of diagnosing & curing problems with these. It could even be the ECU not switching in at the appropriate time. I assume the pressure sensor monitors the pressure in the FAP filter and tells the ECU to start regeneration when it senses high pressure in the filter. Sorry for so much musing over this one any help would be appreciated.
