Hi Colin, Good post and well done in getting to the bottom of this. Just one thing, most common rails are direct injection and don't usually require glow plugs for starting unless the temp is well below zero. Glow plugs are used more for post start heat to help with emissions. So unless we have a realy cold winter the driver may not experience any problem as a result of having a glow plug fault. I have had many cars brought to me that have already had new glow plugs fitted with the complaint "no feed to glow plugs" when the starting fault actually lay elsewhere. Mike
