Hi Colin Did your launch give you p1138?if so this is usually a supply problem to the pressure sensor usually caused by a wiring loom problem,on edc15c2 there was a modified loom plus new sensor. the rail sensor is from memory directly in the centre of rail at bottom and a bit difficult to get at. the system would not put a default value for fuel pressure to start the vehicle if there is a sensor or wiring fault. Daves description is right the ecu looks at sensor signal voltage and adjusts pressure regulator on pump according to whether the signal recieved is too high or too low. hth simon
