Have the dreaded air leak fault code logging along with fault code related to throttle valve, tested throttle valve and replaced it and it’s not logged the it’s relevant code anymore. But still have the intake air leak logging a fault. Smoke tested the inlet from the AMM, no leak found. New manifold fitted by us 3 months earlier along with EGR valve, tested manifold flap operation OK, removed EGR and found a lot of carbon deposits considering it’s only been on 3 months; but it’s was still closing and opening OK. Road tested with code reader and found the boost pressure was lower than demanded plus DPF back pressure was really high, tried a forced regen but no luck so we sent the DPF and pre-filter off for professional cleaning and re-fitted, DPF pressure now OK but it’s over boosting according to demand: Demand = 240 KPA, actual = 290 KPA. Checked boost control valve operation and it’s OK, VNT seems free when activating Boost valve, vacuum levels are OK. I’ve checked the AMM but suspect the peak frequency to be to high at 10.75 kHz (15 g/s at idle 150 g/s revving). Does anyone have a good waveform for comparison? Would anyone know if this requires the software update according to software date and version?
