Forgot to say that I've checked the Boost pressure sensor.
Vehicle has been returned to customer so it's unresolved, but the customer is very understanding and I said I will keep him informed of any ideas that may turn up. I was wondering if carbon deposits in the actual ports in the head maybe the problem, thinking of getting one of those BG inlet system cleaners.
