Last year did a S type Jag, same engine, sump full of bearing swarf and knocking like a good un. Nothing availble for rebuild, OE or aftermarket.
Fitted an OE exchange unit. Good deal easier to extract than from a Disco. Numerous gaskets, seals etc are not included with engine but are essential.
By the time we had replaced most of the steel coolant pipes, egr valves due to terrible access once engine in the total came to to over £7000.
The customer was aware and happy to pay.
