I bet there isn't a failure of any of the components the other garage fitted. They were just not aware that a new oil pump was wise to fit, due to the poor design.
So, none of their components would have failed, just an existing part.

So if you change the brake discs, would the wheel bearing be covered?

It's just a case of product knowledge, like replacing a water pump on a VW when doing a belt.

Has the customer tried Landrover customer service, as this is a widely known problem, which of course they haven't heard of, but there has been cases of them renewing the engine FOC.
