Year of Manufacture *: 2009
Engine Size and Code *: 2200
We have had a few of these in over the years and haven't had a problem after we have drained and refueled . they can take a bit of starting , but once bled and with the help of some brake cleaner or easy start they have run just fine.
A friend of mine had a vito 2009 in this week, which turned out to be a miss fueling, but in the process of working out the problem of a long crank time he put 3 new injectors in it, and went all over the place chasing a low high side fuel pressure problem. in the end he gave up given the choice of what to replace next,.. high side pump or fuel rail, both in excess of £600 each and gave it to some one else to look at.
30 mins later the some one else rang him and informed him theres petrol in it. Its then refueled and bye bye long crank time and it runs just fine.
so in hind site a quick sniff in the tank may have saved a lot of time.
i had taken a interest in his long crank time vito so he told me the outcome , and in doing so justified his putting the injectors in as the petrol had ruined them so he said, and claimed that petrol could also ruin the high side pump seals as well as the fuel rail seals
is this correct ?
what experience do you all have of this please.
