Like most things these days....
The OE filtration system design is "fit for purpose"!
It is not fit however for the purpose of performing miracles.
Diluting swarf may have worked in the good ole days (not so sure it ever would thought?), but it is now time to leave behind such thoughts & notions.
A grand for a set of injectors, exposed to filtered swarf = Alarm bells
