I decided to be brave and carry out a forced regeneration, and take an extinguisher with me - except in my haste I forgot the extinguisher!!
Drove the car for around 20 miles and the soot level went down to 0%.
The P2002 code cleared and didn't return, so another happy day!
This might be nothing new to some people, but I have only had a small amount of experience with dpf.
The pure fact that this was fixed by an independent will also reinforce the fact that they don't have to rely on the main stealers - a good thing me thinks.
That inexplicable feeling of fixing another and those pesky lights staying off is also, very nice!!
I now feel much more confident, especially after having no mishaps at 95% soot level.
