I hope someone can help with this.
Van originally came in 3 weeks ago as a breakdown. Owner said cut out going around a corner. Had no diesel in it so put 20 litres in it and bleed it.
Starts up but hesitates around the 2.5k mark. As it hesitates the range screen in the dash kept going blank.
I test drove it and the symptoms disappeared. I put it down to air in the lines.
Van is back today broken down again(van had quarter of a tank but I still put another 20 litres in just in case). It will start but runs roughly for 2 or 3 seconds then dies.
Serially fuel pressure is good and on the scope its good. The IMV valve current mirrors the control signal. The injectors are switching off killing the engine. The range display is blank until the engine is cranking but goes blank again as soon as the key is released.
Owner says the range never went blank before.
I cannot help but think that this is related somehow but cannot figure how.
I have checked all lives and earths as listed by Autodata but there missing the IMV valve so what else are they missing.
