The car starts ok, but idles badly, smokes a lot (grey diesely smoke) and refuses to rev.
Fuel supply from tank to filter and filter to HP pump checked and confirmed OK (fuel filter changed just in case).
HP pump max-pressure scoped during key-on, & cranking phases (see attatched file). Key on indicates 0.5v an the fuel rail sensor which equates to around 0 PSI. During cranking the pressure is seen to rise in discrete steps up to a max of around 3.2v on the rail sensor (i was expecting around 4.5v). Ceasing cranking see's a nice steady pressure decay as i would expect and i'm eliminating injector leakage due to this. Can anyone confirm these values are ok or low as i dont have a working example to verify against?
We also carried out a leak-off test on the injectors and they all looked very nicely balanced.
Noid lights on the individual injector connections indicates all correct pulses to each injector so i'm assuming wiring & ecu are ok.
Judging by the amount of smoke emmiting from the exhaust i'm assuming the exhaust is free-flowing and not blocked. Could this be some kind of turbo fault? The vacuum actuator works fine although some smoke can be seen coming from where the actuator shaft enters the body of the turbo when revved.
Any ideas?
