I was requested by a local garage to re-programme the engine ECU to by-pass the DPF and install a full re-map. The DPF had been removed and a new turbo had been fitted. The vehicle was going into LOS before and after this work had been carried out. I checked for engine DTC's prior to re-mapping and there were none. However, 2 "unknown" codes were present (P2311 and 2312) which the garage knew about and would not clear. I do not remember the full meaning of the codes but they were to do with CANBUS faults within the auto-box.
After the re-map, vehicle would drive well for about 1 mile and then drop into limp mode. Thinking the engine management ECU wanted a forced DPF regen, I subsequently found this had been carried out 433 kms previously on Autologic.
Convinced this was an auto box CANBUS problem, further investigations indicated that this could be due to water/oil ingress into the ECU located in the passengers footwell. Alas, this was not the case. Checked tinterweb tonight and find the problem could be caused by poor electrical connections to auto-box and possibly gear-box fluid.
This may well be a dead thread, but any info that you can supply will be gratefully received and passed onto the local garage.
