Yes! If it was assembled a bit better it would do as an example of that pattern for the database, till something better came along, but as is, is too jumbled. What a shame! At least we know it exists now. I should ask Dick Henrywood if he has seen the pattern since writing that article or if this is a first for him too. In fact that's what I will do.
