Caryn, this is a wonderful piece, I would hope you do not disaseemble it for a mosaic. From the looks of the reverse with those four wonderful feet (to me, somewhat "unique" or at least quite unusual), this would be some sort of serving piece or cake/cheese stand, not a plate. And what is that additional piece in the image of the reverse? It looks like a handle. Does that belong with this piece? As to value, as a matter of policy we don't discuss values in this MB, as they are so subjective. But surely the value is much greater as a whole, even showing the damage, as opposed to a mosaic?
