Where the partners send out directives to the staff about what is needed for us to review returns, then go behind your back and tell the staff not to worry about including the documents they said were needed?

Fast forward to me reviewing returns as the deadline approaches, and I see that certain documents that are needed are not in the file. I ask the staff, and they tell me they were told they did not need to do it per the partners.

I complain to the partner who put out the directive 2 weeks ago; he is combative and says we can talk about it after the 15th. Well, it turns out it was he who was telling the staff they were not needed.

WTF? I cannot review a return with these documents. It takes less than a minute to print the documents out of the corporate returns and into the individual files.
