also, most connections are like an hour. That's more than enough time to pee and grab a sandwich somewhere, but not if you have to go outside and come back through security. I'm not sure I see any benefit to having any of this stuff outside of security. Literally no one is going to go hang out at an airport bar or restaurant just for funsies.  Previous Message
if you want to go outside of the terminals you can. Perhaps you have a 4 hour layover. No problem. Go out of the secure area and enjoy. You're connection flight will be called to security just like your first.
