Because I do not believe it to be true. As a whole, undocumented employees contribute more and consume less from a federal aid level. In addition, as a whole, they spend a larger percentage of their wages within their local communities.
My view is that undocumented workers are a net positive on the economy and that they contribute more resources than they consume. So, even if their jobs were replaced by legal citizens, you'd have a net decrease in revenue because the contributions would remain the same, but the consumption would increase.
And I know this is an impossibly complex equation to definitively solve one way, but am open to any new information that would challenge my stance.
