The bottom line as stated by the writer is that the squad was improved considerably in the transfer window by, it appears, the recruiting staff but Mr Mellon has failed to use the additions suitably. If he’s not responsible for recruitment then maybe there is a stubbornness associated with him that affects the performance standard of the squad?
