A topic that will cause much acrimony amongst us, legendary and best players are two different things.

I’m going to throw three names out that will always be legendary in my mind, two of them just for a single act.

- Maurice Whittle. For sticking that penalty past Alex Stepney in front of the Chaddy End, and beating United 1-0. Legendary.

Any long-lived Latics fan will remember those moments for ever and there are many, many more players that have provided a legendary moment. No, they are not the best players to have ever worn a Latics jersey . And it’s why I agree about Norwood belonging on a ‘legendary list”
