All but 2 teams in Scotland used to produce players. The 2 would buy them. They would star for a season and then go on to captain or star for an English division 1 team.
Then the PL happened. Suddenly everyone was buying from abroad. Including the Scottish teams.
Unfortunately the ugly sisters still have the glory hunters, who keep them "big".
England has a slightly bigger version. Maybe 8 teams? But all buying from abroad. No wonder they are both hopeless.
