No, it doesn't make us sound really shit, putting all the emotion aside, plainly and simply we did not have the financial muscle to tempt players away that other teams would have made an offer for.

That's just simple truth isn't it?

You tell a young player you can play in an almost certain relegation battle for Luton at Kenilworth Road or just about any other team for more money in a more modern stadium that's x times the size and a better chance of staying up etc etc etc.

And that's before you even think about the fees that might be required / offered.
