We signed him knowing he had had a fairly significant muscle injury earlier in the summer in which we signed him

Not saying he wasn't worth a gamble if we had had one or two more options in the CDM role but to call him a success or some kind of coup for the recruitment team, having only made 17 appearances for us, is a real stretch

But, let's say that Lakonga was a good piece of recruitment - that still only makes 3 genuinely good signings in the summer of 2023. Only 2 proved to be an indisputable success. Not a good strike rate

So, I make the transfer window of summer 2023 a failure to add to the last 4
