...given that we were pretty much shopping for almost all of our players from the ones that just about no-one else wanted even as a backup for their team what would you see as a decent strike rate?


I mean, putting it like that, makes us sound really shit. Were we, as club, really that desperate? A club that was THE story of English football that summer?

But, let's say we were, I'm judging it on what those signings did in the C'ship too as I'd have expected us to have signed players in summer 2023 that, in the event of relegation, could help us bounce back or make a good attempt at it. Or have decent re-sale value. The players we signed in summer 2023 and retained for the 24-25 season flopped, whether through injury, not being good enough or a combo of those things. So, bearing in mind they flopped in Division 2, shows just how poor those signings were for Division 1. I thought we might have been able to do better
