Do I have your forend?

I have acquired close to 100 Forend metal and wood from the factory over the years of repairing these guns. If your gun is missing a foreign metal or wood and metal, please send me your serial number from your incomplete gun and I will give you the forend if I have it. I do not want anything for it. I would just like to make these guns as complete as possible. I am not interested in selling forends at random, but I would gladly give you your forend if you have a gun without a forend. Jerry.

Thank you! If you really care about the guns and the people here it’s the right thing to do. I just hope we get some match ups. I have a ton of frames as well. Same offer there if someone has barrels

I hope you are doing well. I have an 1897 O grade extractor gun that the wood for the forearm is all I need to get this Ole girl back in the field. I can get you the serial number if needed.

Maybe Jim will see this and give us a summary history.

Other than the fore arm wood, the gun looks to have been a used but loved and taken care of shotgun. When I received the gun it had such strong pipe tobacco smell that it triggered my imagination of a dimly lit cabin with amazing food, friends and tall tales.

What great site with great people.

I have a Rochester Ordnance WILDFOWL,12 gauge, 2 3/4 inch chambers (by measurement, not marked), no reinforcing lug, marked RLB, crossed cannons, flaming bomb. The serial number on the receiver and the barrels is 198621, which identifies it as one of the eight WILDFOWL Rochester Ordnance guns (per Brophy). The forearm is marked 198011, which is within the range of Rochester Ordnance serial numbers (again, per Brophy). I've always assumed that there was a mix-up on re-assembling the guns after cleaning. I'd be happy to swap forends if you happen to have 198621. Whether you do or not, you are offering a generous and valuable service which is much appreciated. Thank you. Stanley Hackett

Hi Jerry, Back in town and just saw your generous offer. I have a 12 bore hammerless Damascus LCS 2 grade (or is it “2 quality”?), serial number 23030. It is missing both wood and metal forend pieces.
I hope the pictures below help you narrow them down a bit as they show that the gun has a rotary check bolt, tension rods and is an extractor type.

Jerry, I am looking for the forend wood and metal for SN 4165, a 20 ga. OO that evidently has a Curtis release. The barrel lug has the notch in the front to engage the Curtis latch. VERY long shot!

I recently acquired a Hunter arms/LC smith 16 gauge. The top "ears" of the forend iron are sheared off at the pinhole and the forearm wood is split. Its a ejector gun i believe to be a "No.2" grade. Serial number is 4298.

My forend is not entirely missing but somewhere along the way someone replaced the splinter forend of my 1930 12 ga regular frame “long range” with a beaver tail forend. I’m interested in bringing it back to its original factory configuration.

I have a Type I ejector iron, serial number 2315, which would date the iron to 1896. It is sans wood and escutcheon, and the ejector parts are missing but does come with the release roll. The base is engraved; so I'm speculating this iron to be from a Grade 2 gun. If anyone has interest, post your contact information here and I'll give you a shout. Tom

I'm missing the forearm iron and wood for the second set of barrels on my 00 grade. S/N is 330412. Any help would be appreciated.

Ryan, it may be helpful to post the serial number or at least the era of your gun. As you have found, one size doesn't fit all and there are several different styles as well. There maybe other members that can help you

Ryan, your gun was made in 1901. It would have the butt plate with grooves. They are available from NC Ordnance in NC. You may have to order the oversize version and grind/sand to fit. They also have butt plate screws but I've found that they don't meet original. Send me a message at cedarclyffelodge@gmail.com if you want a pair of originals

I am in the rebuild phase of a 1910 12ga field ‘00’ and though it’s complete, I am missing fore end springs/parts that I can’t find on Numrich/Ebay etc.

I am aware of 3 gunsmiths on the hunt for Regular frame 16 gauge barrels so you or Jerry could easily sell the barrels alone.

Jerry, I have ser# 201966 a FW gun with one of the mix and match forends sent to Rochester Ordnance. The serial number on my forend is 201597. Maybe someone has the 201597 barrels and receiver!!
