I have a Type I ejector iron, serial number 2315, which would date the iron to 1896. It is sans wood and escutcheon, and the ejector parts are missing but does come with the release roll. The base is engraved; so I'm speculating this iron to be from a Grade 2 gun. If anyone has interest, post your contact information here and I'll give you a shout. Tom
