20 gauge 3e single quail on both sides - "history"?Archived Message

Good Afternoon, Thank you in advance for taking the time to read my post. I have recently acquired a beautiful 20 gauge with the serial number 6309E on it and would like some history about the gun. What is intriguing to me are the "single" quail engravings on each side of the lock. And, the trigger guard, and other parts, appear to be blued rather than silver. The gun appears to be all original (including etched screws) and is a joy to bring to my shoulder. I have been waiting many years to find such a gun and would really appreciate knowing more about the "history" of this particular wonderful piece of art.
