Zachary, I used 2 part epoxy to attach the new wood, and the wood is from walnut trees grown locally. Before you start on your stock, you should stop and think about your woodworking and mechanical ability. More than a few guns have been ruined by owners that have gotten in over there heads. If you feel that you have the woodworking skills and tools, the wood part is not too bad. You must also realize that that the stock more than likely must come off to do the repairs. Proper screwdrivers are needed for disassembly, along with mechanical skills for reassembly. If the side plates are not that bad, you might want to consider leaving it as is, and shoot it. I have quite a few that have some flaws and still love using them. This might not be the gun for a first project, Its hard to say because I do not know what your abilities are.
