I have a 1911 LC Smith 16 gauge OO Grade shotgun that I am currently working on to return to factory finish. The main concern that I have is that the head of the stock has shrunk and/or somebodies previous sanding has resulted in the side plates sticking outside of the stock. My main question is will a semi inletted 12 gauge stock available on many websites fit my 16 gauge model after it is appropriately inletted. I have checked prices of having this service performed and understand it is expensive and outways the value of the gun. I intend to perform the majority of the work myself. Main goal of gun is to have a shooter that is correct. Thanks Zachary
