Bill, I have the older brother to your gun, SN#32146. It has no engraving just an outline all around the locks and frame. The butt plate of a dog with falling duck and says LC Smith Trap Gun. I bought it thinking it was a grade O but its a grade 1 like yours. Its condition case colors on sidelocks and bottom around 75%, top of receiver 90%, wood and barrels excellent. The case color is just like Syracuse colors with alot of mono-cromatic blue in lieu of the more multi-colored cc of Fulton era. Maybe David W. or others can weigh in on the durability of the Syracuse Case Colors, my opinion they fade faster than Fulton guns of the mid 1890s on, and that along with more age is why we do not see many high condition Syracuse/transition guns of any grade. Thoughts? Jeff Brant
