Thanks all. Drew's pictures identify a statement that the steel in these Grade 1 guns may be English Stub Twist or a lower grade Bernard. The picture of the Grade 1 identified by factory records as a Grade 1, later than mine, shows game scenes on the side plates, which mine does not have. As mentioned, standard specs were slow in coming in the move from Syracuse to Fulton. Other of Drew's pictures show a gun like mine with only a line surrounding the outline of the sideplate, grade unidentified. My (Grade 1?) has an absolutely mint example of the "two dogs" buttplate, which must be unique in condition. Houtchens pictures a less than mint example, the first some of us have seen of that buttplate.
