Early Fulton Hammerless #35036 Grade 1?Archived Message

I have a high condition early Fulton hammerless, #35036 which does not appear to be a Grade 2, the lowest grade mentioned by Brophy or Houchins in hammerless guns of this era. The two authors also mention that Damascus barrels are standard on the Grade 2. My gun's barrels seem to be a laminated pattern rather than Damascus. This gun has none of the engraving on the sideplates, trigger guard, or anywhere else that both authors picture on the Grade 2. I am assuming that the production of a Grade 1 was a short time idea for the Fulton Smiths, and never reached the catalogs. Can anyone clarify?
