Winchester tried hard with their MODEL 21 but they still failed and failed big time. Those of us that shoot these old side by sides and shoot them frequently see the bottom rib popping off WINCHESTER 21's at an unacceptable rate. I have personally seen two Winchester Model 21's have their lower ribs come loose while being shot. All of our side by sides are mechanical tools that can break down and do break down but the Winchester lower rib problem is as big of a problem as the L C Smith butt stock head weakness.
