If there is a price difference, it is likely mostly a matter of supply and demand. There were about as many L.C. Smith doubles produced as Parker Bros. and Ansley H. Fox combined. L.C. Smiths do hav a reputation for the wood at the head of the stocks being delicate and very subject to splitting, and the Hunter One Trigger was probably the most troublesome of any of the major American manufacturer's single selective triggers.
