    Thanks Dave. I was able to find out that the noise I heard was from the cocking rods as you suggested. I took the forearm off (i get to that in minute) and held the cocking arms and the noise stopped. Nice to see what the cause was.

    Now on to the forearm. I went to tighten the cocking plate as you suggested and found that it must be stripped. I can not get the thing to remain tight to my liking. Seems a slight over turn of the screwdriver causes the plate to become loose. The screw still has thread on it so I figure it's the plate. I ordered 3 replace pieces from Numrich and am wondering where else I could locate some spare screws since Numrich is out. Anyone have another source for that screw?
