    New LC Owner Archived Message

So as of 12/17 I am the owner of a lovely 20 ga field grade Elsie. I couldn't be more happier with it so far and want to really thank everyone who has answered all of my probably overly repeated questions thus far.

    I know:

to use Ballistol from now on to clean and lubricate her
    to store her barrel down
to store her with A-Zoom snap caps in the fired position
to use low pressure, low speed reloads in her

Some things I've noticed. When shouldering her, I hear something loose and I believe this to be the springs. I've heard it in my Baikal as well and am not alarmed, but rather wondering what it actually is.

Also, when I took the forend off to clean her this evening, a small piece was loose and came off. It was easy to find where it came from

and am guessing that I put it back together properly since the forend went back on without issue. The white dot is the point of the screw where it passes through the "little wedge shaped plate". The pointy part of the wedge piece is back towards the cavity where the springs are visible and the thicker part is flush with the metal that has the hole drilled at the point of my arrow.

Other than that, is there anything I need to know so that I can enjoy this classic for years to come?

Thanks again for all of the help!!
