My father handed me his gun collection last month, many pieces having been passed through multiple generations. One piece is my Great Uncle Ted's L. C. Smith, 12 gage "Eagle Trap" single barrel shotgun, serial #S11185, that he was exceptionally proud of (as were my Grandfather and dad). I was told that Uncle Ted had special ordered this weapon and paid over $1000.00 in 1918 (or about) and waited nearly a year for its delivery. I can find references to L. C. Smith "Eagle" and "Trap", but not to an "Eagle Trap". This shotgun is quite pretty and the case coloring is 98%+ intact and the engraving is deep and fine. Anyone know if there is a difference in an Eagle, or a Trap and an "Eagle Trap"? Tom Smith Alabama
