Mike, if it is an ejector gun, I found out that you really have to force the ejector arms into the fit of the barrels or else you will be putting a lot of pressure on the wood. It is the same as trying to fit the forend on without cocking the gun first. I also hear a loud "click" when I open the gun as the ejector arms are finding their "fit". I have tried a few different ways to make it easier, and maybe someone knows a better way to do it but there is always pressure on the ejector arms.
