    Tom, the right barrel on this gun has probably been cocked many more times than the left one,result more wear on the cocking train. If you can cock it using Davids instructions, check the forend. There is a hardened cocking plate where the cocking levers fit in the forend. Early guns with the rotary check and extractor actuator have one for each lock. Look for wear there, on the cocking lever ends, the cocking cam and the projection on the hammer. Sometimes the cocking cam will loosen on the lever shaft, it is a drive on tapered fit, if there is play there it might not move the hammer to a cocked position. If you need a lever or cam let me know, I have several from parts guns for the shipping costs.
