Lloyd, if your gun does not have L.C. Smith Maker, Syracuse, N.Y. on the center rib it is not a true Syracuse Gun Company gun if it didn't have those serial numbers I listed. Plus I have never seen a Syracuse gun with the two pointing setters butt plate. And again the breech balls were rounded not slanted. The two screw trigger guard is common on the early guns. Some workers from Syracuse stayed on assembling parts that were gathered from the factory, but these were all serial numbered and most likely with a makers name on the barrels and is possible sold through them, others were sent to Fulton with no makers name and Hunter Arms sold them as is. Think what you want but if I saw this gun I would not think it as a true Syracuse gun without those serial numbers.
