there's no 'leveling,' so once you have the gear you are set... it makes the process of dying much less painful, particularly if you have a good tent setup and can just rush back and get restocked immediately. and/or are playing with other people with extra gear.
Also the chance to run around cherno/elektro with nothing to lose is pretty neat in and of itself. with nothing to lose you're a bit more free to roam.
matt-, glad to hear your brother is doing well; that's a nice area. is he still playing any music? i have never been on the west coast. the closest i have gotten is albuquerque a couple of times. Is michelle still funny as hell? i hope so; best speeches in speech class... ask her about the brak 'beans' song... or maybe it was 'dont touch me.'
i can see the kia blackouts as a useful tool... but a complete pain in the ass. seems like people would have to post something about it, however respectfully/accidentally. that is definitely ####ed up.
i moved to ny because a friend of mine needed a roommate at the time and i'd always kind of wanted to move out east... was looking at ny, dc, etc for a little while. the 2008 campaign ended and for a bit i was helping my grandfather who was dying of colon cancer, then he died and i didn't have any real obligations and headed out here. a pretty simple/pointless story. somewhere to go. some people i knew. something to do. a lot of cheap/nice cultural events to compensate for the ridiculous rent.
ps. LIGHT BUY ####ING DAY z, you like FPS apparently.
