The state of John McGinn, who looked a minimum stone-and-a-half overweight. And not a stone-and-a-half overweight for an average fubbler. A stone-and-a-half overweight for John McGinn. Finally putting to bed any idea that wearing black is slimming. May as well have been wearing a refuse bag filled with suet.

United somehow being in shock that giving the gig to an ex-player who won a few end of season games rather than having been in the market for an actual manager may have been a mistake. Again.

Oli Mac showing again why he was about ninth in the pecking order behind soooper strikers Lawrie Shanks and Lyndon Dykes.

Half the league being in crisis already.

Two weeks in and having to field a makeshift centre half combination. Never change, lads, will you.

It’s gone under the radar because of Wirtz and Isak being a bit crap but the two full backs brought in by the shite last summer (Kerkez and Frimpong for approx £70m in total) are mediocre at best.

Re 1) there were all kinds of fragrant bouquets of vintage Hodgson and Souness years watching them (I know) yesterday. Some serious dogshit out there on the pitch and - unless they pull one of their instant GOAT rabbits out of the hat a la Torres/Suarez/Salah - there is literally nothing there to come in and fix it. I think Iraola is great, but he's going to have some 3D chess to conjure up to get a tune out of that lot. Could he some heady days ahead

Cant see anyone else challenging Arsenal especially if they get Alavez in from Atletico who got a booing on Sunday that was almost Everton esque from the Atletico fans

Palace are really going to struggle especially as that defender got what looked like a season ending injury

Wonder with the rumoured blackmail threats from UAE that City are really going to be in the shit

Also quite funny seeing Spurs getting webbed despite what they spent

Think that manager Newcastle got in will do well

January Bellew 🤣👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
